In 1996 we decided to face the reality that there are many more people not going to church than are. In fact we think that only about 20 percent of the people in Kirksville go to church on any given Sunday. We took a survey and asked "Why?"

Here are some of the answers: "There's nothing that is relevant to my life..." "The sermons are boring...," "Churches are always asking for money...," "I believe in God, but I'm tired of all the fighting that goes on in churches...," and "I don't have any problem with Jesus, it's just with people who say they're Christians, but don't live like it...."

That was enough to let us know that some things had to change!

So here's what we've done. First, our mission is to reach people who don't currently attend church and help them discover the joy of knowing Jesus Christ and His teachings, helping them become fully devoted to Him in their lives. Second, we have created a place for them to hear and see the message of His love.

We promise four things to you... We'll never put you on the spot. We won't hassle you for money. We'll treat your kids like gold. And we'll always make our services practical and relevant.

If you come, you'll notice things are different, but now you'll know why. The service is designed for people who are seeking God in their lives, but we want to eliminate all the reasons they're "not going to church".
